How to Begin, Site Structure
To start using the web site of Latvia, type in your web browser the address www.latvija.lv  – that will open the title page of the site:

 

The language choice panel is located in the upper part of the title page. Clicking on the text of greeting in the language of your choice will open the title page in the chosen language:

 

The information in the web site is divided into two main sections:

  • Start page, where the informative links are placed in a hierarchic structure of categories and sub-categories;
  • E-services, where during the further development of the web site it will be possible to receive e-services.

The right-side panel of the web site contains the language switch, information search block (see description 1.4 Searching the Web Site and 1.5 Searching by Keywords), as well as a banner block.

There are several links placed in the upper part of the web site that are accessible from anywhere in the site:

  • Site map – link to map of the web site (see description  1.6 Site Map);
  • User’s Help – link to the Help system of the web site. Clicking on the link will open the Help system with description and explanatory information on the options and possibilities in the web site;
  • Text version – clicking on the link will open the web site in text only version (no pictures). You can return to html view by clicking on the link Html version, which becomes visible only when in text version;
  • Print version – clicking on the link will open the current page of the web site in a new browser window, which then can be printed with the help of the print function in the browser.


Showing or not showing the links can be enabled by the administrator.
